At Bark-Island, we believe dogs deserve more than a quick walk around the block.

And let’s be honest – sometimes we humans just want somewhere we can let the dog run without spending the entire walk shouting:

“Come back!”

“Leave that!”

“PLEASE STOP EATING THAT!” 😂

A Sniffing Adventure Awaits

For dogs, a walk isn’t just about covering miles.

Their noses are doing serious work.

Every blade of grass, bush, tree and muddy patch contains information about the local neighbourhood. Who’s been there? When were they there? What did they have for breakfast?

Okay, perhaps we don’t know exactly what they’re thinking – but we do know that sniffing is an important part of allowing dogs to explore their environment.

So don’t worry if your dog spends ten minutes investigating one particularly fascinating patch of grass.

Zoomies Are Encouraged!

Some dogs are natural athletes.

Others have perfected the art of looking incredibly lazy until the second you say the words:

“Shall we go for a run?”

Let’s not forget the humans.

You can enjoy some peaceful time together.

Or you can simply stand there with a coffee while your dog investigates a blade of grass for approximately seven minutes.

We want Bark-Island to be somewhere where dogs can be dogs.

Not every dog enjoys busy parks or crowded walking routes. Not every owner feels comfortable letting their dog off lead in public. And sometimes you just want somewhere safe, secure and peaceful to enjoy time together.
